Product Description

Vagacyte 450mg Tablet is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the retina (retinitis) in adult patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is also used for the prevention of CMV infection in patients who have received an organ transplant from a CMV-infected donor.

Vagacyte 450mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

How to use

It should be taken with food. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. You should drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them

• Anaphylactic shock (sudden swelling of throat, face, lips, hand, ankles, difficulty swallowing, itchy skin rash)
• Low blood counts (shortness of breath, pale skin, mouth ulcers, sore throat)
• Blood infection
• Severe stomach pain which spreads into your back
