Product Description

Oncovorin 50mg Injection consists of the active ingredient Calcium folinate. It is the active form of folinic acid, indicated to treat unwanted effects caused by administration of the group of medicines called folic acid antagonists. Some of the most commonly prescribed folic acid antagonists include the anti-cancer drug methotrexate, antibiotic trimethoprim, antibiotic and anti-cancer drug trimetrexate and antimalarial drug pyrimethamine.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if have seizures, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using, especially phenytoin for your seizures. To make sure it is safe for you, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking this medicine.

Side Effects

Serious:

• Reduced number of blood cells
• Inflammation in the lining of mouth and intestine
• Severe allergic reactions

Common:

• Nausea, vomiting, severe diarrhea
• Redness and swelling of palms of hands and soles of feet
