Product Description

Thyrogen kit 0.9mg injection contains a human thyroid-stimulating hormone in a highly purified recombinant form. It is used as an diagnostic tool for testing serum thyroglobulin (Tg) with or without radioiodine imaging in the follow-up of patients with well-differentiated thyroid cancer. Some of the serious side effects of this injection include stroke, neurological events, acute hemiplegia or hemiparesis, sudden rapid tumor enlargement in Distant Metastatic Thyroid Cancer. 

Thyrogen kit 0.9mg injection must be given intramuscularly only and not intravenously. In patients who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions with bovine TSH, this injection must be administered cautiously.  Elimination of the drug is slow in patients with end-stage renal disease and those on dialysis. The physician must be informed in case of kidney, liver dysfunction or any history of heart disease. Some common side effects include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, headache, weakness.
