Pivikto 200mg+50mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Alpelisib. It effectively treats advanced breast cancer that occurs in men and postmenopausal women. This medicine is specifically active against the type of breast cancer cells called advanced hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative breast cancer.

Your physician will test a sample of blood or tumor tissue to check for the presence of PI3K mutations. A positive result shows that you are likely to respond to this treatment.

How to use

Use this medicine as recommended by your physician. Swallow the whole tablet, do not crush, chew or split the tablets before intake.

Side Effects

Serious:

• High blood sugar levels
• Fever, cough, runny nose, joint pain, night sweats
• Rashes, itching and hives
• Breathing problems 
• Altered frequency and amounts of urination
• Swelling of legs, ankles and eyes, tiredness, confusion, nausea, seizure and chest pain
• Osteonecrosis, characterized by heaviness in the jaw, loose teeth, pain, and swelling of the jaw

Common:

• Spontaneous bleeding or bruising
• Strange taste in the mouth
• Mouth sores
• Stomach pain, indigestion
• Hair loss or thinning
• Low calcium and potassium levels in the blood
• Muscle pain
• Insomnia
