Neostrol 40mg Tablet contains the active substance Megestrol. It belongs to a category of medications called progestogens and is used to treat certain hormone-dependent cancers, such as breast cancer. It is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring progesterone hormone. It is also indicated to treat unexplained weight loss, weakness and loss of appetite in patients with weak immune system and cancer.Progestogen therapy is useful for patients whose disease has progressed with conventional anti-estrogen therapy. Your physician will assess the estrogen status (ER) to ensure that your breast cancer is due to the expression of the estrogen receptor.

Neostrol 160mg Tablet should be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time each day to ensure consistent levels of medicine in the body. This medicine is not used for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It may cause side effects like high blood pressure and increased blood sugar levels but they are temporary. However, if these persist, consult with the doctor.

How to use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Neostrol 160mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
