Emtaf Tablet consists of the active ingredients Tenofovir Alafenamide and Emtricitabine. This combination is indicated as a fixed dose combination with other antiretroviral drugs to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents more than 12 years of age.

Antiviral medicines delay the complications related to AIDS and enhance the overall quality of life. This combinational therapy is highly suitable for patients with large viral load. Although this drug reduces the risk of viral infection to a great extent, this does not cure HIV and there is still a possibility of transmitting HIV to other people.

Lactic acidosis is a rare but life threatening side effect of this medicine that occurs in overweight women and people with liver disease. Watch out for symptoms like deep rapid breathing, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain.
