Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml belongs to a class of medication called 'antiseptic' primarily used to treat bacterial intact skin infections and oral cavities problems like gum inflammation (gingivitis) and dental plaque prevention. It effectively kills the excess growth of harmful microbes present on the intact skin and oral cavities. Gingivitis is the inflammation of gum caused by the harmful bacteria if left untreated can lead to periodontitis. This can cause the gum to separate from teeth leading to loss of teeth.
Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml contains Chlorhexidine, which possesses bacteriostatic (prevents the growth of bacteria) and bactericidal (kills bacteria). It is also effective against various types of yeast and cleans the affected areas by killing harmful microbes. It works by effectively killing the bacteria, stopping bacteria's growth, thereby speeding up healing of bacterial infection.
Take Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. The most common side effects of Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml are staining of teeth, taste change, hard dental plaque in some cases. If using on the skin, an individual might also experience severe allergic reactions like wheezing/difficulty in breathing, shock, facial swelling, hives and rashes. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding before starting Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml. In rare cases, Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml can cause allergic reactions, leading to a sudden pressure drop. If you feel any such symptoms, immediately stop taking Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml and contact your doctor. Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml contains aspartame, which can cause unpleasant side-effects in people with phenylketonuria ( birth defect that causes an amino acid called phenylalanine to build up in the body). After using Clohex Mouth Wash 150 ml, do not drink tea, coffee, or smoke. At least maintain a gap of 1 hour. To maintain good oral hygiene, try to brush your teeth for at least 2 times a day to avoid any oral infection and its spread.
